- The position of a team will be determined by the result of the individual sports as per the specific rules of that particular sport. For example, the team coming first in the football tournament will be awarded 50 points, the second team will be awarded 47 points etc.
- In sports where the participation of more than one team per University is allowed Universities will collect points for all of their teams participating in the sport.
- The winner of the MBAT will be the University with the most number of points.
- In a situation where teams have the same total points, the following criteria will be used to rank the tied teams:
- The team with the most number of 1st placed finishes will be declared the winner.
- If the teams have the same number of 1st place finishes, then the team with the most number of 2nd places will be declared the winner.
- If the teams have the same number of 2nd place finishes, then the team with the most number of 3rd places will be declared the winner and so on.
